The Abu Dhabi Championship, in conjunction with the DP World Tour, is hosted at Yas Links, with both organisations working together to deliver a sustainable golf tournament. Solar power and renewable energy are utilised wherever possible to reduce the event's carbon footprint. In addition to these energy initiatives, Yas Links has focused on water conservation through comprehensive irrigation audits. These audits have helped identify areas for improvement, leading to significant investments in more efficient irrigation systems. As a result, water consumption has been reduced by 20%.
This commitment to sustainable water management is especially important in the Middle East, where water resources are limited and climate challenges are significant. By improving irrigation practices and investing in efficient systems, Yas Links not only supports the region’s water conservation goals but also sets an example for responsible resource use in golf course management.
