Rare flora in full bloom

The Royal Dublin Golf Club

Ireland

Over the past few years, the club has been transforming our rough areas from thick grassland with limited diversity into a thriving and diverse biodiversity hotspot. We now have a wide variety of rare and beautiful plants, including a range of orchid species. Among the emerging flowers, the bee orchid stands out. This fascinating species deceives unsuspecting bees into spreading pollen by simulating mating interactions before they move on. We are hopeful that as time goes by, we will witness an increasing abundance of these rare types of flora flourishing on the course.
