Planting one mangrove for every round of golf played in April

Al Zorah Golf Club

United Arab Emirates

Al Zorah Golf Club has made a dedicated commitment to environmental conservation by pledging to plant a mangrove tree for every round of golf played during the month of April. As part of an ongoing environmental drive, the club has embarked on a major restoration project on the 11th hole, which is expected to result in the planting of approximately 2,000-2,500 mangrove trees.

Previously, the 2,000 square meter area was covered with overgrown vegetation. However, through the dedicated efforts of the agronomy team, the club has successfully rejuvenated the area, creating an ideal environment for the thriving of mangroves. These mangrove trees, essential for the restoration project, are being provided by the nursery within Al Zorah's 'Quest for Adventure', ensuring a high level of establishment with the assistance of their expertise.

Throughout the month of April, Club members, guests, residents, and associates will all have the opportunity to actively participate in this initiative by planting a mangrove tree themselves. This inclusive approach emphasises the club's commitment to engaging everyone in their sustainability efforts.

This restoration project serves as a testament to Al Zorah Golf Club's dedication to sustainability and environmental preservation. By preserving the natural beauty of the region and creating a habitat for diverse marine life, the club not only contributes to the global fight against climate change but also showcases the harmonious coexistence of golf and environmental conservation.
