This winter, we removed some invasive species around the greens and replaced them with marram grass, a native plant that helps improve the area’s habitat. The roots of marram grass bind the sand in place, creating better conditions for other local plants and insects to thrive. We transplant marram grass in clumps from our 'nursery' area to where it’s needed. The sandier the conditions, the more likely the marram grass is to take root and establish itself.
