Partnerships benefitting our club and its surrounding biodiversity

To support the club on its sustainability journey we have created partnerships that provide us with valuable free expert guidance and even financial benefit for the club. We engaged a friend of the club - Ed Jenner - who provided us with a valuable ecological report and guidance to guide our first steps.

The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust conservation officers conducted a plant and pond survey, providing a full report including recommendations on habitat management - at no cost to the club. The Hawk and Owl Trust (East Midlands) identified a number of sites for the installation of nest boxes for barn owls and kestrels. The trust will pay for the boxes and installation. All they ask in return is occasional access for monitoring. Finally, the club has contacted local businesses asking for support and, in the case of a local landscape company, receiving materials at cost price.
