Collaborating closely with the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, we embarked on a project to establish a dedicated wetland area aimed at increasing the population of Great Crested Newts on our site. Careful consideration was given to selecting an appropriate location that not only aligned with the goals of the local conservation initiative but also enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the golf course.
In the inaugural year, the presence of Newt DNA was detected, marking a promising start to our efforts. Additionally, the wetland has attracted a diverse array of other species, including the Broad Bodied Chaser Dragonfly, further enriching the ecological diversity of the area.
