For the past 5 years, Haga Golfklubb has collaborated with professional divers to retrieve golf balls from ponds and rivers on our course. Annually, we recover between 15,000 to 20,000 golf balls, which are then cleaned, refurbished, and reused.
We have also recently partnered with "Hold Norge Rent," a national clean-up organisation, to collect lost golf balls from rough and surrounding areas of the course before each season begins. These recovered balls are repurposed as practice balls for junior and member training sessions.
Our aim with this initiative is to minimise plastic waste, prolong the life cycle of golf balls, and inspire a new generation of golfers to take up the game.
