Our new electric buggy: sustainable and powerful

De Hooge Rotterdamsche

Last week, our greenkeeping team expanded their fleet with the addition of a Yamaha UMX buggy. This 100% electric vehicle will soon replace the last of our old diesel buggies. A few years ago, our greenkeepers were sceptical about electric vehicles, considering them too lightweight for their needs. However, they are now thrilled with the performance of the Yamaha UMX.

The work cart is designed for a wide range of heavy tasks, and its extensive battery pack ensures it can effortlessly last an entire day. In addition to being powerful, the buggy operates silently and is completely CO2-neutral.

One of the key features of the Yamaha UMX is its set of brushes, which allow the greens to be quickly and efficiently cleared of dew. This process is essential in preventing mould formation on the greens, a task that was previously done by hand and was very labour-intensive.

With this step towards a more sustainable fleet, we are actively contributing to reducing our ecological footprint, all while maintaining high standards of efficiency and effectiveness.
