Since July 2023, we have been using nine robotic mowers to maintain our 18 fairways. As climate change raises concerns, golfers increasingly expect sustainable practices. The mowers operate at night and recharge during the day, allowing daily mowing regardless of weather or course conditions, without the need to adjust for employee schedules.
Robots also reduce soil compaction and are less affected by weather. For example, this season, they began mowing in February, allowing us to extend the golf season into spring and autumn. Their introduction required minimal changes to operations, with only the installation of charging stations needed.
The decision to implement robotic mowers wasn't about reducing manpower but improving resource efficiency. By relieving greenkeepers of fairway mowing, they can focus on tasks like greens maintenance, enhancing the overall quality of the course.
