The Els Club began its journey of reducing single-use plastic in 2021. In collaboration with 'No More Bottles UAE', we began phasing out plastic bottles across the facility. Refill stations are strategically placed throughout the golf club and members and guests are encouraged to bring their reusable bottles.
This promoted a culture of reusability and in 2024, The Els Club saved 125,000 plastic bottles (500mls). This helps reduce plastic waste that ultimately ends up in landfills or oceans. Which, in turn, helps protect wildlife and ecosystems and also cuts down on carbon emissions as the manufacturing and transportation of plastic bottles uses fossil fuels.
