A sponsored project has ensured that there are 83 new nesting boxes in the track. These boxes are cleaned annually and in the spring, all boxes are checked a few times for the presence of a brood. At the beginning of May, a number of volunteers were trained by the bird watch. Two rounds were made to assess the broods. In the end, 60% of the boxes turned out to be inhabited and a total of about 270 eggs were laid!

The majority of the cabinets are occupied by great and blue tits, great for the ultimate goal, fighting the oak processionary caterpillar. Other birds such as starlings and pied flycatchers also nest in some boxes. On the second round, the parents of the birds flew back and forth with caterpillars. They still brooded in a single box.
