New linear habitat of beech trees introduced

Golfclub Emmeloord

Netherlands

A new row of beech trees has been added at Golfclub Emmeloord on the site of a former farm. In the Noordoostpolder, all farms have a tree-lined perimeter. These linear habitats are an important feature of the landscape.

In 2021, part of the perimeter near our barn was cut down which was necessary due to the trees being affected by the ash disease, the dead wood is dangerous for people and buildings. We are working on a new canal and have planted beech trees for it.
