The PGF has installed nesting boxes along the Jamor Golf Course in its latest campaign to reduce the use of pesticides in and around the course, part of the PGF’s long-term plan to make the 9-hole course more sustainable.
The nesting boxes were made from reclaimed and recycled wood. Bird species that will utilize artificial nesting boxes are insectivorous and include the pallid swift (Apus pallidus), Common Swift (Apus apus), European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis), and spotless starlings (Sturnus unicolor). These birds will form a natural alternative to pesticides.
