Native grassland helps shape the golf course

Over many years of intensive rough management, we have produced a highly diverse rough that shapes the course. The native grassland continues to increase in diversity each year, reaping numerous benefits. By naturalising the rough, we have effectively increased regional biodiversity, establishing habitats for various species, including birds and insects.

These areas now demand less maintenance in contrast to other sections of the course, thereby diminishing the necessity for mowing, watering, and chemical treatments. Simultaneously, the areas provide an aesthetically pleasing texture to the course which is valued by all. We are committed to sustaining the management of these areas, fostering an enduring, sustainable rough that interweaves throughout the golf course in the years ahead.
