Planting and development of native grass plants help to reduce erosion in desert waterways. Annually we continue to promote native grass species to grow and populate our desert washes.

During monsoon season these washes fill with water very quickly and are subject to a lot of erosion. By populating with grasses the underlying desert material is more stable and subject to less erosion.
