In April 2024, we entered into a lease agreement for an electric mower – a Jacobsen Eclipse 360 ELiTE. It allows the greenkeeping team to cut 21 greens using only 56% of the machine’s battery capacity.
It charges overnight, has hugely reduced the level of noise pollution on the course, and is less polluting to the environment when compared to it’s diesel fuelled equivalent.
Over the course of 12 months, we’ve calculated a saving of 3000L of diesel or £2,100. Without needing hydraulic and engine oil, the mower is also much cleaner for our mechanic to work on.
