Maintaining turf quality whilst lowering damage to the environment

Having studied the specific disease pressures and locations on our playing surfaces we are experimenting with a technology that has been used successfully in sports stadiums for many years. Mobile UV-C light machines are a biological solution for fungal diseases which safely kills fungi without affecting the grass plant. As an alternative to chemical fungicide applications we expect this to greatly reduce the costs involved in maintaining turf quality and minimise harm to the environment.

We also use another biological control to reduce chemical intervention - Trichoderma harzianum - a beneficial microorganism that works in harmony with the grass plant and local climate and environmental conditions. In effect it is a biological fertiliser which boosts the health of the turf roots and leaves, making it stronger and less susceptible to diseases.
