Due to old age, three benches around the golf course needed to be replaced. So we decided to look at procuring benches made as locally as possible by groups or organizations that support the local community. We literally found such an organization at our front entrance called the Men's Shed.
After a few discussions and designs, they were able to make us 3 benches with locally sourced and sustainable timber. All were made within 20m of the golf club and our carbon footprint to get them and place them around the course was almost nothing. The money the Men's Shed made from this will be used to fund further community projects all the while supporting this group of retired men in our community. A win-win all round!
