The Dallas course exemplified environmental stewardship through its recognition as both an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary and a Monarch Butterfly Waystation. These certifications demonstrate the course’s commitment to sustainable environmental management, supporting biodiversity, and protecting vital species. The Audubon program ensures that golf courses implement practices that enhance habitat quality, reduce pollution, and conserve water. Meanwhile, the Monarch Butterfly Waystation provides crucial support for migrating monarch butterflies by offering food and shelter along their journey, contributing to the preservation of this endangered species.
The course also prioritized biodiversity by maintaining native acreage, which supports local wildlife with minimal resource use. Native plants require less water and fertilizers, promoting a healthier ecosystem. Additionally, bee boxeswere installed to support local pollinators, and controlled burns were conducted as a natural conservation technique to prevent invasive species and improve soil health.
To further minimize ecological disruption, LIV Dallas implemented protective measures during the event, such as roped-off areas, ground protection mats, and litter-picking teams. These initiatives ensured that sensitive habitats were undisturbed, preventing soil damage and maintaining cleanliness throughout the event.
