Little Owls at home on the course

Cumberwell Park

England

Written by: Jon Keepen

Many species call Cumberwell Park 'home' but we are particularly proud to have Little Owls at the course. We have had Little Owls here for a number of years but have now had them successfully breed in the boxes that we put up.

We have been assisted by Dr Emily Joachim, founder of the UK Little Owl Project, who has given advice and kindly came out to ring and record the chicks. This year we were visited by the BBC to film and document the Little Owls for a children's tv programme. Having owls on the course is fantastic and shows the benefits to wildlife that golf courses make.
