Junior golf programme expansion and community engagement

In 2023, we made a concerted effort to enhance our Junior programme to better engage our current junior members and involve golfers from neighbouring schools. We kicked off the season with an opening event, inviting all junior members to the Society for an afternoon of games and activities, drawing over 80 golfers.

Additionally, we created a 9-hole junior short course on one of our practice grounds, exclusively available to juniors on Sunday afternoons. Our professionals have now established a junior development programme using the Golphin My Pathway to Golf app, which sets progressive levels for junior players to achieve. To further support the Junior pathway, we have recently introduced Junior tees on the front 9 of our main course, allowing juniors to transition comfortably to the course’s forward tees as they advance.

We have also partnered with a nearby prep school, our neighbour for over 125 years, to introduce golf to the school curriculum for the first time. As a result of these initiatives, our junior membership is now at full capacity with over 200 members and a waiting list!
