In recent years, we have gradually replaced a significant portion of our traditional, fuel-driven machinery with electric mowers. Although we were able to execute this process successfully, we were still depending on the ‘man on the mower’.
However, the technological developments of the past few years gave us the opportunity to think about smaller equipment, with less capacity, paired with an increase in the number of mowers. An extensive test confirmed the value of this approach.
Although greens and tees are still mowed by electric manned mowers, six small robotic mowers are now fully operational and mowing the fairways. Solar panels supply all the necessary electricity, helping to reduce our diesel consumption by almost 60%!
An additional advantage is the increase in the density of the turf, providing a visually beautiful sight. All in all, we have made a big ‘electrifying’ step - from both an ecological and sustainable point of view.
