TPC River Highlands underwent a complete irrigation upgrade starting in the summer of 2022 and finishing in the spring of 2023. These efforts addressed an aging system that was inaccurate and inefficient in watering playing surfaces and landscape areas around the property.
The new system boasts several features that ultimately conserve water and help our Agronomic Plan better align with Best Management Practices:
- Surfaces are segregated with "ins" and "outs," allowing us to water only the surfaces and grass types that need intervention.
- The use of block zones with smaller mister heads allows for targeted watering of small landscape beds and narrow turf areas.
- The programming capability and reduced watering window enable the use of cycle and soak programming, which reduces runoff and ensures irrigation is confined to the targeted area.
