To reduce water consumption a full audit of all irrigation heads was completed with almost 200 turned off and a further 60 repositioned within the fairways for more efficient coverage. This has improved the quality of the fairways and resulted in an annual saving of over 100,000 cubic metres of water, which would have cost $28,000. It has also reduced the maintenance requirements of out-of-play areas, made the course more natural in appearance and player-friendly by increasing the pace of play.
