As part of our strategic investment in saving water and improving efficiency across all of our golf courses, we have installed new irrigation pumps on the Old Course. The new pump technology is expected to result in a 25% reduction in electricity consumption due to its more efficient performance, cutting-edge technology, and the consequent optimisation of the irrigation system.
Our plan is to bring the pump stations on all golf courses to the same level, using the same models of equipment in all stations. This means that if we have a problem with one pump, we have a backup pump that we can switch to to maintain supply and minimise outages or emergency repair situations. With constant monitoring it is possible to evaluate the performance of the irrigation system, adjusting coverage whenever necessary using small adjustments to the sprinkler heads to reduce water consumption whenever possible.
