2023
Since 2019, La Cala Golf has undertaken an initiative to enhance water efficiency in its irrigation practices by transitioning from bent grass greens to Bermuda grass. This initiative commenced with Campo Asia in the Autumn of 2019, followed by Campo Europa in the Autumn of 2020, and is set to conclude with Campo America in the Autumn of 2024. Additionally, the replacement of tees with Bermuda Tahoma 31 variety further contributes to water savings, estimated at an additional 20%.
This strategic shift towards water-efficient grass varieties yields numerous benefits. Firstly, it aids in the conservation of this precious natural resource, aligning with responsible environmental stewardship. Secondly, it results in substantial cost reductions related to water consumption, offering financial advantages. Moreover, the improved playability of the golf course enhances the overall golfing experience for visitors.
