This project combined outreach and education with local schools and our birdwatching team to install bird boxes for predatory birds—Barn Owls and Kestrels—enhancing sustainability and wildlife conservation efforts at Yas Links.

Five bird boxes were crafted by students from local schools, who then joined us on-site for the installation. The day included an engaging bird education session where we highlighted the ecological benefits of these birds, such as natural pest control and biodiversity support.

Engaging schoolchildren in projects like this is vital, as it nurtures an early appreciation for environmental stewardship and hands-on conservation. It empowers young people to take an active role in protecting their local ecosystems and fosters a sense of responsibility for the natural world.

The event concluded with a golf clinic, blending environmental education with recreation, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation and sustainable practices in golf.
