With the reduction of green spaces for wildlife in the countryside and the ever-increasing demand for real estate, making habitats as biodiverse as possible is becoming more important. While there may be plenty of food sources, most species also have requirements for habitats to breed; for example open sand or a vertical face to burrow in.

Wylihof Golf Club has innovated on the reptile hibernacula, insect hotel and kingfisher bank ecological enhancements by combining all of them into one structure. When resources for conservation are so limited, creative thinking about how to reduce the total amount of time and supplies into an enhancement such as this is vital for the conservation of our wildlife.
