Improved irrigation accuracy and coverage

The team at Aphrodite Hills is always looking to improve our course irrigation system to enable us to use water more efficiently. As part of this, we have identified some irrigation heads that could be moved to create a 'hard-edged system' - where water is only applied to the appropriate areas. In most cases this only required us to move the irrigation heads no more than two meters. Combined with an increased nozzle size enabled us to set the sprinklers-arc to 180° rather than a full 360°.

This results in us focusing irrigation to areas that need and avoiding waste and running shorter irrigation cycles. The photo is an example of an irrigation head moved to improve efficiency. The Red dot highlights the original location and the Green do is the new location. Now we have reduced water use as we are targeting only the turf with a part-rotation head.
