Two reclaimed IBC tanks have been set up on reused pallets to harvest rainwater from one section of the maintenance facility roof. The roof area is marginally short of 50m2, requiring only 40mm of rain to fill 2,000 litres of storage tank. The water will be used for liquid feed and seaweed applications as well as tool washing.
This will reduce greatly the current reliance on the use of mains water. Phase two will include redirecting the remaining guttering around the maintenance facility to the irrigation storage tank which is located nearby.
