Global engagement for quality local produce

Circolo Golf Degli Ulivi Sanremo

Italy

Written by: Stefano Boni

The olive tree has ever been a distinctive character of our course, which is located in the famous 'Flower Riviera' and is named after this plant. Our holes are crowned by more than 2000 olive trees of the 'Taggiasca' variety and many of them are hundreds of years old. A few years ago we decided to produce an organic olive oil, in line with our chemical free course management, and we hired for this purpose a cooperative that engages disadvantaged peoples (Cooperativa Onlus Goccia) as well as an an olive oil mill company well-known for its quality products (Frantoio Roi).

The result was CruGolf, the first Certified Biological Oil of the whole Sanremo area, which is sold in 0,5 lt bottles and arrives on the tables of many European countries, linking the image of golf to a high quality product. This helps to safeguard the agricultural tradition of our area and for this reason, in 2016 we received by the IGF the 'Impegnati nel Verde' award for the category 'Cultural Heritage'.
