Fitting into the natural rugged landscape

Jack's Point Golf Club

New Zealand

Of critical importance when designing Jack's Point was how the facility and all its assets would complement the surrounding, rugged landscape. A major objective of the development was to use the opportunity to celebrate the understated features of the site and ensure:

  1. Man-made structures were sited appropriately below sight lines and away from natural bluffs or elevated sites;
  2. and that these structures mimicked the historical and cultural style of the region. A range of natural materials were utilised to achieve this, with recycled on-site materials being incorporated as much as possible.
