The Eurasian Hoopoe is one of many beautiful bird species regularly sighted all around Minthis golf course. Our greenkeepers welcomed the ‘new junior members’ with great joy when discovering that the irrigation boxes turn out to be the perfect shelter for bird nests.
Since the first discovery, the team is careful when approaching potential nests in irrigation boxes. Eggs, and later the new-borns, are left in peace in order to grow into the beauties we all love to see on the course.
In total, 109 species of birds have been recorded at Minthis and the resort’s environmental action plan ensures the protection of important fauna and flora within the ‘Natura 2000’ protected site.
