Enhancing wildlife habitats at TPC Twin Cities

TPC Twin Cities

Over the past five years, TPC Twin Cities has installed Mallard hen houses across the property, with 15 now strategically placed around the course. Last year marked a milestone, with most houses successfully producing ducklings, resulting in 20 broods—our highest number to date.

In addition, we have eight Wood Duck houses, which were initially underutilised. After redesigning the houses and adjusting their locations, we’re delighted to report that six were occupied this year, all of which successfully produced ducklings.

Our course also features a Bluebird Trail with 22 nesting boxes, monitored and surveyed by Dave Cunningham, a member of the Bluebird Society who has been volunteering in this role for seven years. Since Dave began monitoring in 2017, the Eastern Bluebird population on the course has more than doubled. In 2024, the trail achieved an 80% occupancy rate, with 43 eggs laid and 32 fledglings successfully taking flight.
