In 2010 we began working with a group of volunteers from The Friends of Harrison Bay State Park to monitor and care for our collection of 42 eastern bluebird houses that are installed across our golf course. These volunteers study, record, and submit the nesting results weekly throughout the season.
Since 2010 our nesting boxes have fledged 364 baby bluebirds and counting. Inviting these volunteers to be part of our environmental projects has been tremendously successful, a great assistance to us, and has changed the perception of many in the community about what we do on our golf course.
