Enhancing avian habitats through new birdhouses

St. Laurence Golf

Finland

Written by: Irmeli Vilenius

In spring 2024, we constructed numerous new birdhouses intended for a variety of bird species at St. Laurence Golf.

Additionally, members were encouraged to bring their own birdhouses to the golf course, which our staff then installed. The golf course hosts a rich diversity of bird species, with some using the area as a resting spot during their migration north, while many others remain to breed.

This initiative resulted in 40 new nests for birds, and our aim is to progressively augment the number of birdhouses each year.
