Mining bees were very few and far between on the course. Indeed, we could understand totally when news broke that solitary bees are in danger of being extinct. Operation Pollinator was kicked into action and we developed wildflower areas to bring them back and then allowed them to hibernate in our bunker faces and sandy outcrop areas around the first tee.

The amount of mining bees has escalated dramatically every year and the determination remains the same to create as many habitats in bunkers as possible and allowing smooth raking instead of teeth to prevent damage to their burrows. Before then though, we provided as many bug hotels as possible to allow them to feel at ease in their surroundings.
