Midland Country Club has initiated the elimination of Styrofoam cups throughout the facility, particularly at the pool. Styrofoam cups are non-biodegradable, often escape recycling systems, and break down into microplastics over hundreds of years, polluting food chains. They also have a high carbon footprint, with each cup releasing 0.07229 pounds of CO2 during production.

This initiative, supported by staff and members, is a simple yet effective way to improve our ecological and carbon footprint. By switching to reusable cups, we have become a greener facility, eliminating almost 100 cases of Styrofoam cup waste annually.
