Creation of high roughs to reduce inputs

Golf du Rhin

In pursuit of enhanced environmental management, Golf du Rhin has implemented high rough areas around the course. These sections no longer receive fertilisation or watering and are mowed only once annually in October.

Situated beyond the playing areas, these zones have not only conserved water and fuel by reducing inputs but have also significantly bolstered biodiversity by offering essential habitats for various species, including wild flowering plants, as seen in the photos.

Moreover, these unmaintained rough areas serve as effective carbon sinks, contributing to the overall sequestration rate of the entire course and helping us reduce our overall footprint.
