At Golf Club Unterengstringen, we have been actively supporting the bird world for many years. Through the installation of various birdhouses, we provide safe homes for both rare and more common species, including kingfishers, eagles, and ducks. These species play vital roles in maintaining a balanced ecosystem on our course.
Kingfishers help regulate aquatic pest populations and are indicators of water quality, while eagles, as apex predators, keep smaller bird and rodent populations in check, contributing to the overall health of the environment. Ducks assist in maintaining clean water by feeding on algae and insects, and their presence promotes natural vegetation growth through seed dispersal.
Setting up birdhouses is a simple yet effective way to support these valuable species. By ensuring the birdhouses are protected from the elements and predators, we can provide safe nesting spaces that encourage a thriving bird population.
