Creating a reptile retreat on the golf course

The rocks left over and collected during construction have been placed in an out-of-play area, along with branches, to create a valuable nesting habitat for diverse reptiles such as salamanders, snakes, and various insects. By designating this area as a Bio Top, golfers are prohibited from entering, thus providing a safe haven for these creatures.

By developing this habitat, we aim to support a thriving community of reptiles on the golf course without interruption. Many reptiles are carnivores that feed on insects and rodents, which are known to carry diseases. This not only helps control undesirable pests but also protects golfers and other animals from harm, highlighting the crucial role they play in food webs in surrounding the areas.
