At Aphrodite hills we target the golfing ‘corridor’ with our irrigation leaving a natural frame around the perimeter of each hole as a non-irrigated area. This creates a nice contrast between the green golf hole and the brown look of the non-irrigated areas during the summer. Trying to ensure the water is only being applied to the areas in which we need is a high priority - reducing water use.
The non-irrigated areas form part of our minimal input areas as well, these areas receive no irrigation, no fertiliser or pesticides, and are only cut as needed throughout the year.
