Creating a buzz through bee-friendly initiatives

Jack's Point Golf Club

New Zealand

Bee hives have been introduced to Jack's Point Golf Course to support local flora through natural pollination, creating a thriving habitat for bees in a safe and sustainable environment. The course has carefully implemented bee-friendly practices, including the use of environmentally friendly agrichemicals, spraying buffer zones, and establishing multiple water zones to help wild bee populations survive. These initiatives ensure that bees can flourish without exposure to harmful chemicals while enhancing the biodiversity of the golf course.

In addition to their ecological benefits, the three hives on the course also produce honey—a sweet reward for the hard-working greenkeeping team. Last season, the hives yielded 15kg of honey!
