멀칭이란, 코스 전반에 걸쳐 수목의 건강한 생육 관리와 잔디 및 수목의 경계를 명확하게 하기 위하여 하는 작업이다. 수목 하부의 그늘짐 현상으로 잔디 생육이 좋지 못한 부분을 개선하는 효과가 있다. 또한, 코스관리면적이 축소되어 결과적으로 친환경적인 코스가 되는 효과도 있다. 우리는 현재까지 그늘짐이 심한 곳 위주로 571군데, 2130 제곱미터에 걸쳐 멀칭 작업을 하였다. 기존 멀칭은 바크(낙엽송껍질)를 가져와 작업을 하였으나, 2019년부터 재활용이 가능한 소나무의 솔잎으로 멀칭재를 변경하였다. 솔잎의 특유의 산성 성분이 자연스레 잡초를 억제하고 특유의 컬러감이 자연을 그대로 닮아 보기에도 좋다.

Mulching is an efficient method to maintain healthy growth of grass throughout the course and clarify the boundaries of grass and trees. It has an effect of improving areas where grass growth is poor due to the shading phenomenon under the trees. In addition, the course management area is reduced, resulting in an eco-friendly course. Haesley Nine Bridges completed the mulching work at 571 places (2,130 square metres) with heavy shades so far. The existing mulched material was carried out by bringing in bark. From 2019, we have changed the material to pine needles that can be recycled. The acidity of the pine needles naturally inhibits weeds and its unique colour is just like nature.
