Recently we decided to find a use for all our old palettes which get delivered to the course. Combining the use of old logs from fallen trees, we constructed a "Bee House" to encourage bees and other animals to make it their new home. We would position this in and around our course bushland, out of sight from golfers, so that the bees and other insects can remain untouched and undisturbed.
Constructing a home for these pollinators will help encourage the flowering and spreading of our wild plants. Construction of these homes was quick and easy. By simply stacking pallates on top of each other and drilling several holes into old logs, and sliding them in between the gaps in the palettes we were able to create the perfect home for many different insect species.
