Old turf and soils are taken to a large composting area and left to decompose naturally over time before such time when it is once again suitable for use on the golf course. All grass clippings are also taken to this area and composted.

Over the years, the two-acre turf nursery and the 300 + tonnes of composting material that has been stored and used to make Royal St David’s a truly sustainable operation for returfing areas as everything is available on site and free!
