Lincoln Golf Club has been working hard to build strong relationships with the local community. To help get the community active again after Covid-19, the club teamed up with Active Lincolnshire and the Golf Foundation to provide a free six-week coaching and social programme for the local retirement village.

The programme involved two sessions a week for two groups. Each week focused on a different fundamental of the game: Putting, Short Game, Bunker Play, Pitching, and Long Game. The final session was a competition week, where participants put all the skills they had learned to the test. At the end of each session, the club provided tea, coffee, and cake to create a social environment following the recent restrictions.

The programme was called 'The Elms - Golf Tee and Cake Initiative.' Each participant received their own golf club to keep as part of the programme, along with Lincoln Golf Balls and a coaching booklet detailing their progress.

The club has also kept two practice memberships open for the retirement village, allowing the residents to continue playing. Many are now enjoying the club socially, with some having joined as full members!
