Kristianstads Golf Klubb and Destination is situated on a UNESCO site, namely the Kristianstads Vattenriket Biosphere Reserve. Therefore, the club has a responsibility to adhere to UNESCO guidelines and regulations as well as to maintain and promote biodiversity and conservation.
The club is working alongside the local bird club, Nordöstra Skånes Fågelklubb, Spoven, in implementing various nesting boxes for different bird species. The first step of this project was to install three Wryneck nesting boxes, adjacent to the small nature reserve that borders the golf club, in the hope of providing more viable nesting sites.
