The images attached are of our coastal erosion defences at Lundin Golf Club. We took advice from various agencies and followed their advice. We used environmentally safe railway sleepers to protect the vulnerable dune structure which has proved very successful.
There has been a regeneration of grasses along the sea defences as the sand which is swept up against the sleepers at high tide has created an environment for them to thrive. The most important thing about this project has been that we have been able to protect a vulnerable area of coastline which was under threat from the high tides.
