Over the past number of years, The Island Golf Club has supported many charities through fundraising days and donation of prizes for events – including St Francis Hospice, The Blind Association of Ireland, Malahide Lions Club and St Michael’s House.
One annual event in particular in aid of Breast Cancer Research in Ireland is very popular with our Members and is particularly well supported. This event raises up to €4,000 per annum. The theme is “play in pink” and all of the Members dress in pink for the day and the clubhouse is decorated in pink to support the charity. All money raised from golf and a raffle on the day goes to this worthy cause and the day takes pride of place in the annual diary. This day serves to increase awareness for the charity as well as generating much-needed funding for research.
